Tutoring is now my day job – that means I’m fully focussed on my students and their learning, unlike many other tutors who may be working, studying or doing research. Before this I was a teacher for over twelve years, working at Canford School and St Edward’s, Oxford.
“Naveed is a superb tutor! He helped me find my strengths and weaknesses, which then allowed him to show me what was needed to be done. Not only this but he gives great moral support during hard times, like exams, and is always a phone call/email away if you need any last minute help.” — OA
I’ve over 2000 hours of tutoring experience, helping people with GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level and IB Chemistry, and I was a Personal Tutor at Greene’s Tutorial College, Oxford, where I developed and managed individual tuition programmes. I’ve also assessed OCR B GCSE Chemistry and OCR A A-level Chemistry so understand the mind-set of an examiner.
“Naveed has been tutoring my daughter for over a year now. I can confidently say that he is an excellent teacher & a great motivator, someone who really enthuses his students. My daughter came from getting a U in her mocks in January last year to a B in her AS Chemistry in August. She has good understanding & applies her knowledge well. Her confidence has sky rocketed so that from being the most challenging of her subjects, Chemistry is now her favourite.” — AO
I started Kidlington Tutors in 2013 as I felt that many students would benefit from the full-time, focussed tutoring that I could offer. As well as being a self-confessed ‘education geek’, I’ve coached various sports, run photography and martial arts clubs, and been involved in academic enrichment programmes like debating societies. In my free time I play hockey and badminton, and enjoy weightlifting.
As well as a current Enhanced DBS certificate (June 2015) I hold Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance in respect of tuition and am a member of the Association of Teachers and Lecturers. I have also completed the OSCB Specialist Safeguarding training. For any further questions, enquiries, or references, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
